ADVOCATE
The Mesquite Chamber of Commerce is an organization dedicated to serving the Mesquite community business through advocacy, suistainable economic growth and business education by promoting and creating a pro-business climate for our member.
COMMUNICATE
Promote open communication and disseminate educational information through opportunities made available to our members by successfully bridging the gap between businesses and community leaders.
EDUCATE
Provide members a strong educational, knowlegeable and leadership forum that encourages business success for our members.
PROMOTE
Promote success by supporting all business members.
TOURISM
Support members to encourage and promote tourism which will strengthen the local economy and in turn create a successful business atmosphere in Mesquite.
WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DAY TO DAY OPERATIONS OF THE MESQUITE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE?
The Mesquite Chamber of Commerce is operated by paid employees who report directly to the President/CEO. The President/CEO reports to the Board. The President/CEO oversees the day-to-day operations of the Chamber office and works closely with the Executive Committee.
WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE BOARD MEMBERS?
Board members set policies for the Chamber of Commerce. They are fiduciaries in that they review and approve the annual budget and financial statements. Board members are also ambassadors for the CHamber and Mesquite area businesses. They volunteer their time aside from their regular jobs to promote the Chamber's mission. They attend Chamber and committee meetings and help with Chamber events and other community activities.
WHAT DOES THE STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE?
The staff conducts the day-to-day operations at the Chamber. This includes direct communication with the members and assisting them with member benefits and programs available to them as members. The President CEO regularly interacts with local, state and federal/official leaders to stay informed.
