COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE JUNE 2019

MESQUITE, NV (Leisure Services Dept.) – American Red Cross with the City of Mesquite Department of Athletics and Leisure Services will be hosting a blood drive on Friday, June 28, 2019, from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM at The Mesquite Recreation Center located at 100 West Old Mill Rd.

To schedule your appointment or for more information log onto redcross.org and enter the Sponsor Code: “CITYOFMESQUITE” or contact the Mesquite Recreation Center. If you have questions regarding your eligibility to donate blood, please call the Red Cross at 800-733-2767 or 866-236-3276.

TWO FREE CONCERTS PLANNED FOR INDEPENDENCE DAY WEEKEND

MESQUITE, Nev. — Eureka Casino Resort is proud to continue the tradition of “Rockets Over the Red Mesa” on Thursday, July 4th. For the 8th year the Nevada POPS Orchestra will bring their full 32-piece orchestra. Joined this year by singer Travis Cloer, Las Vegas and Broadway star of Jersey Boys, they will perform songs saluting America and all of its brave heroes. 

On Friday, July 5th Travis Cloer will take the stage to help Eureka Casino celebrate the launch of their new Gold Club.  Travis will take you back in time with classics like “Let the Good Times Roll” and “Can’t Keep My Eyes Off You”.

These events are free and family friendly.  The Thursday event will begin at 6 :00 p.m. with a community vendor village. The celebration continues with a live performance by the Nevada POPS Orchestra with special guest Travis Cloer at 8:00 p.m., followed by fireworks at 9:00 p.m. The orchestra will accompany the fireworks show to celebrate Independence Day in true American style.  The Friday event will begin at 8:00 p.m.

All ages are welcome. Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs to the viewing area, which will be set up behind the resort. For more information visit EurekaMesquite.com

GRI Firearms Opening for Business

[Mesquite, Nevada, June 7, 2019] GRI Firearms will celebrate their grand opening on Tuesday, June 11, along with the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce, and Mayor Al Litman at 50 S. Arrowhead Ln., Ste E, Mesquite, NV 89027 at 9:00 AM. Refreshments will be served.

GRI is owned by Chris Griffith, an NRA certified firearms Instructor and Chief Range Safety Officer. The store will offer firearms, supplies, accessories, camping equipment, and survivalist gear. In addition, GRI will be able to help individuals create custom survival kits that are designed to fit a person's individual needs.

Chris currently has many classes planned for the future, but one class is already scheduled for Saturday, June 22, at the First Baptist Church. This will be a concealed carry and renewals class where registration is required to attend. To do so, go to www.grifirearms.com, visit the GRI Firearms Facebook page, or stop in at the store. Future classes for firearms and/or survivalist courses will be updated on the website or Facebook.

Splash Pads of Mesquite Area

The splash pad is available form 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM Monday – Sunday, (seasonal) May 27, 2019 – September 30, 2019. (Depending on Weather)
HAFEN PARK Splash Pad located at Hafen Park for those that want to get wet, stay cool and play at the park at the same time, Hafen Park splash pad is open for use to the general public.

Water Surface Mount Jets and River Runnels all provide great ways to enjoy the summer and stay cool. Best of all, the facility is free! Children must be supervised at all times and please no running in the splash pad area, there is many amenities around the park, Shade Structure (Pavilion), Fishing Pond, Tennis Courts, Playground, Picnic Areas and Open Fields to play.

SPORTS & EVENTS COMPLEX 
For those that want to get wet, stay cool and play at the park at the same time, the City’s Splash Pad located at the Sports and Events Complex is open for use to the general public.

Water cannons and waterfalls all provide great ways to enjoy the summer. Best of all, they’re free! Children must be supervised at all times and please no running, there is many amenities around the park, Shade Structures, Playground and Picnic Areas.

We do ask the community that they follow all rules and regulation of the facilities and we appreciate everyone’s efforts on keeping the facility looking nice and picking up after your visit to the facilities.
